Salvation and Your Skin Color [Story]

A month ago or so, my friends and I were doing train ministry. So train ministry involves 2 groups: one group will preach in the carriages while others distribute Christian literature to the passangers on the train. The group distributing literature has the advantage of interacting with the passangers. So, this particular Sunday morning I and a sister started distributing literature and we reached a particular carriage. They call them A class. So, we checked and concluded there were no people.
We then saw an arm moving and quickly went in.

Then we greeted and distributed. As we were about to leave, a particular man wanted us to explain the literature in detail. The sister I was with did that. The literature was about God's commandments: the fact that the Law of God is still binding, as it was, before His death and after His death, and how the law of God, rather, keeping His law is an expression of our love to Him (John 14:15). Including the forgotten commandment, the Sabbath (Exodus 20:8-11). Most importantly, keeping God's law fits us for heaven (Revelation 22:14)

This man clearly understood everything and he even continued chatting with us even when the train reached it's destination.

He was in congruence with everything and was excited to hear this message.

He only had one question: Is heaven even for me, and he showed off his brown skin. We excitedly told him yes.

As I reflected that night I realised racism has done untold harm. It has made the non-whites think that God, salvation, and every gift He offers is not for them.
It's even shocking that, people, who claim to be Christians, can think that they can be God's chosen people, particularly because of their race.
Isn't interesting that, even when God was choosing Israel, it was not based on race or anything like that?

So let it sink,believe it, take it, and claim it:

The religion of the Bible recognizes no caste or color. It ignores rank, wealth, worldly honor. God estimates men as men. With Him, character decides their worth.-9T, p.223

The Lord’s eye is upon all His creatures; He loves them all, and makes no

difference between white and black, except that He has a special, tender pity for

those who are called to bear a greater burden than others. Those who love God and believe on Christ as their Redeemer, while they must meet the trials and the difficulties that lie in their

path, should yet with a cheerful spirit accept their life as it is, considering that God

above regards these things, and for all that the world neglects to bestow, He will

Himself make up to them in the best of favors.-2SM,pp.487,488

HUMAN LIFE MATTERS REGARDLESS OF ANYTHING

Ignorance,superstition,and love of money combined are very dangerous and a curse to mankind;especially when human rights are trempled upon and one's life is taken for granted.

I was shocked to learn from a documentary that albinos are either mutilated or killed in Tanzania.They either mutilate the members of their bodies to use them in 'potions' or umuthi.These witch doctors believe because 'albinos' are 'white' having their limbs mixed in their potions will result to riches/wealth.The worst part is that the government is doing NOTHING about it;since most of its officials use 'muthi' themselves.

Some men who admitted to killing admitted their guilt but you could tell it's business for them.'Albinos' fear for their lives.A teenager was abducted and they cut her arm BUT FORTUNATELY she was rescued.She lives in fear.There are camps for them but the living conditions in those facilities are bad;the sometimes even go hungry because the government does not always deliver these food parcels.

When an 'albino' dies, some people have the audacity to exhume their bodies just have their limbs or genitals.
Because the community is entrenched in the witchcraft it's hard for them to stand against this injustice.Instead,if one reports a killing of an albino they are threatened or excommunicated :(.

In fact,this whole thing of calling them 'albinos' is sickening.It's sad that we relate to others with regards to solely physical appearance.

What are we doing about "blessers" and "blessees"?

Yesterday,I was listening to SA fm and there was a short discussion on what can be done to reduce the number of girls sleeping around for the sake of money.A few suggestions included encouraging girls to go to school and fighting it as a society.I'm still trying to brainstorm honestly.It's a tragic condition.

Maybe we need more seminars on the worth of women in God's eyes?More prayers?More Campaigns etc?But I believe the education system also plays a role-I'm not justifying anything;but I believe the education system should encourage young people to be independent thinkers and to teach them skills that will enable them to be able to provide for themselves.We do not all need to go to Uni to make a living,we need skills that will equip us.

Let's brainstorm together:what can we do to save our sisters from such a lifestyle?

The sad part is,these women recklessly live their lives just to maintain a 'fancy" lifestyle.It is sad.Sexual intercourse has been turned into an object to get money-it has lost its sanctity.The Bible has professed it,"men will be lovers of themselves"(2 Tim 3:1) even if it means disregarding God's law.But I believe,these souls are not beyond God's redeeming grace.

I believe the family structure has much to do with this.Most girls come from broken homes where you do how you please.Also,they've had no father figure etc-but these are still not excuses.One woman said,she'll stop if she gets a job.It's all sad!

More hard-workers needed?

What must be done?Let's brainstorm please!

You are NOT your OWN,you BELONG to God

The Department of education has confirmed: In 2014 twenty thousand(20 000) girls in primary and high  school fell pregnant and this is really heart breaking.

With that said,I believe to solve the problem we have to start from the root.We are to understand that we DO NOT belong to ourselves and we are not our own.God created us for his own glory and he has a say with regards to everything including our bodies.God is not only concerned with the heart but with everything that we do,because He seeks our own good.

And he has set commandments to ensure our happiness comes first.One says,"do not steal" and the other is, "refrain from fornication".When you engage in fornication,you are stealing what is not yours because you do not have the right .It is marriage that gives the right to engage in this.So,we dishonor God when we engage in such activities when unmarried.

God knew that marriage provides security for children. Even though children who grow up from single headed homes are no different to those coming from homes with both parents,they are still affected.For example: each parent plays a role in the development of the child.Personally, having come from a single parent headed home,marriage is not something I really yearn for because I fear it's not for me but God can change such.

There are other factors that contribute to increased sexual behavior amongst young people.The music,movies,ads are sexually infested to the extent that it is rare to find any programme on TV that upholds sexual purity.So,we need to guard what we see,hear,say and think.

The food we eat also has a role:most foods-mostly dairy products and meat have growth hormones,which increases the rate of sexual development in the young children.So,its better to refrain from such foods.Parents have a big role to play.They need to talk to their children about these issues;to teach their children to fear God from a young age.As young women and men we need to be role models to our younger sisters and brothers.The church also has a role to play.Back at home,we decided as young ladies to mentor the young girls,letting them know what God expects from them,find out what challenges they face,offer advice etc.

For some:they fall pregnant because they are sexually abused and sadly they do not speak due to fear.

But I believe young girls need to have dreams and they should not allow anything to come between them and their dreams.Self-respect goes along way too:you will not allow yourself to be a field where everyone practises on.You deserve better!
