THANKFUL FRIDAY

1.I am grateful for my immediate family ☺️! The Lord has arranged things in such a way that I get to spend most of my time with my parents and I must say, I'm growing fond of them!

A shout out to my mom who's my right hand, the doer of amazing things, the one who strengthens me when flesh fails (Of course she knows these sentiments!).

A hello to my dad who's teaching me patience LOL and who judges me for being 'African' just because I prefer to watch things that have to do with people of my skin colour. Lol! He's spoiling and scolding too. An African fathers' disorder maybe? Lol!

My twin, my manga-manga business, such a wonderful soul to be around. I thank God for the friendship we share and I am thankful that he enjoys my company. He told me some months ago that he wanted to offload and  he felt he could speak to me. I was chuffed man!

2. Thankful for the kids I teach and don't teach at church. Last Sabbath afternoon there were only 4 kids (the Adventurers had gone to a camp) and we just spent the afternoon together. They were reflecting about the week and it felt good just listening to their genuine stories. Man, I love these kids! One even allowed me to lay my head over her lap. It doesn't get better than this!

3. I'm thankful for real, meaningful, face-to-face relationships! So heart warming and beautiful.

4. The lessons God is teaching me and the conversations we have.

5. For well-thought, meaningful articles and the ability and appetite to read!

6. For scars that are healing.

7. And for the Sabbath! Sjoe, exhaustion makes you appreciate the Sabbath. It's more than that!

And many more things I'll share next time.

Thankful Friday

This month has been really beautiful.I'm really thankful for God's leading.Have you ever had experiences where you are aware of God's leading?I've had those for over month, even today I had one.I went searching for the traffic department.I had searched for it in google and asked a lady to confirm. When I got there,I was given new directions.

On my way,I saw the sign and I walked for about a maximum of fifteen minutes and still couldn't see it.I decided to take the other direction. In my mind,I knew it wasn't the right route to take.As I got to the end of the steet, the place wasn't there. So,I decided to go back to the original board and check the sign again. And as I was headed to where the sign pointed,a sister from a certain church I've been attending appears out of nowhere and calls me.She then gave me a lift to the traffic department.Such providence!Just talking to her always uplifts the soul.

I think of moments when the Holy Spirit will impress upon me to leave so that I can catch the train and I would arrive just in time to catch it.Or I'd be impressed to leave and take a particular path just to meet someone who might need my help or a friend or whatever.I don't think such events occur by chance. To me,they show how possible it is to walk with God every step of the way,on a daily basis.

I'm thankful for individuals who just check up on me when they are dealing with a lot themselves.I thank God for these individuals.

I'm thankful for friends who are friends in the truest sense-who call out to me when I'm in the wrong, who pray for and with me.Friends who allow me to be vulnerable and who share their struggles with me-these are proof that I'm not struggling alone.

I'm thankful for the truth that God has revealed to me.It's sad to see people deceived while thinking they are on the right path.I came across a couple online who kept the true Sabbath. The sad thing was, they still worship ancestors. The Sabbath that was meant to point mankind to the true God and turn them away from idol worship .I pray that they realize truth.

I'm thankful for God-where would I even start?God is the only One who keeps me.I have hope because He is in my life.

I'm also thankful for His moral law.If it wasn't for His enabling grace to keep it,I know my life would be a mess.I really find myself wondering how do people survive without God's law?It is indeed holy and the law of liberty-liberty from danger and woe.I thank God for being a holy God who seeks to bring us back to His image.

I'm thankful for individuals who are passionate about God.Individuals who are not silent about God's goodness in their lives.

Thankful for Friday

Friday the 4th was an interesting day but I'm filled with gratitude as I look back. But before sharing what I'm grateful about,I need to share this "weird" experience I had.So out of nowhere,a beautiful girl appears and asks for my picture.Reluctant,I ask her why.She then tells me it's for a school project, then I agree. She asks me about my happy moments and sad moments. And I had so many happy moments that I did not know which one to choose. And I had a few sad moments-I recalled things I had seen in the hospital-an elderly patient with a 4th stage bedsore and the little child with respiratory problems.A neighbor brought him and she had to leave him there since she was from out of Cape Town.

Honestly, this just made me realize how grateful I ought to be.Why it's weird?Because I've watched a lot of crime investigations so I start thinking weird things. But I've stopped,so it's alright now.

As I look at my life, there has been a few disappointments here and there, but they don't count for sad moments-they just fall under "lessons learnt".Honestly,I don't have anything to complain about because God has really been with me through it all-He is my beloved and He is faithful!

Then,I went to buy some fruit for Sabbath lunch around 5,the sun was still up.I get to the shop to buy something. Then someone distracted me and I  ended up breaking a bottle. My cerebrum literally stopped for a few seconds-I think there was no action potential. But then I went to tell one lady who works there.Inside,I just told God that I was not really willing to pay for what I broke as that was the coming week's busfare :(.Then the lady said it's okay.Man,I'm sure the valves, atria, and ventricles on my heart were jumping up and down and flipping open and close!Which brings another thought as I'm writing this:This is exactly what happened to us:we sinned,we couldn't pay the penalty and Jesus said:"it's alright I'll pay the price".But does that mean I  should go around breaking things in the store just because I  didn't pay for the bottle I  broke?Alas! I'm filled with such gratitude that  I am not willing to do any wrong. The gratitude brings such carefulness. So it is with sin and grace.

One other thing that melted my heart,an elderly lady gave me her place on the queue since I only had a few things to pay for.Oops, thoughts keep dropping by as I write:It brings to mind what Christ did, taking my place so I can be free from bondage of sin, while He suffers in my place. The old lady decided to give me her time.

So that was my beautiful friday.I must say,I think a lot!All these lessons the Holy Spirit impressed upon me right now.I sometimes start a post thinking I'm going to cover a certain topic and I end up writing something totally different or not writing at all.

All in All,I'm grateful to God who moves upon people's hearts so that I may write and share these moments :)

Grateful to have God who sees me through each and everyday. He is my strength!

God:My Father

I must say I've got a lot of things I'd like to share that God has been teaching me,but time and other commitments are the reason I haven't been able to share as much as I'd like to.But I just cannot keep quiet about God's goodness towards me and I pray that as you learn of His goodness towards me,you may be encouraged to trust fully in Him and cast all your cares and burdens on Him because He REALLY cares.

When I came to Cape Town,I thought it was just going to be smooth-sailing.I had a dear friend and had made other friends through social networks,so I was excited that I was going to meet them and my joy was going to be complete. As if an earthy friend can ever complete me!And yes I met the friends and they are dear to me but sadly I rarely see them.I blame it on Cape Town's geographical arrangement-each area is so scattered from the other plus my studies.

My dear friend had to move to Joburg so that meant our plans were shattered but God provided other people who've taught me so much. But I must admit there has been times when I've found myself wondering,"what am I doing here,in Cape Town?".But I now know.I am here for God to mold me and as I'm ponder at what's happening,I am slowly fulling my calling :).Sometimes, when we are around loved ones it's easier to put our trust on them  and trust on them for the providence of our needs,to the extent that we start to think that they are the ones providing rather than God.Also,in seperation God is able to speak and fulfill His desire in us-Look at Moses,Joseph,Daniel and His three friends. All seperated from loved ones and their comfortable space.

So,God has just been teaching me to depend on Him FULLY.I hope at the end of the year I'll share explicitly how God has been taking care of me.He's really been providing for EVERY need at the RIGHT TIME.Indeed,God's promises "know no haste nor delay".And how sweet it is,when we fully trust Him and instead of panicking,we just trust :).

I lack nothing that is an essential because God is providing and He's been doing so mainly through my mom and my dad!God bless her.I'm yet to see someone like her.And I thank God for hand-picking her for me.I would've made a bad choice,if I had to choose for myself.Such sacrifice on her part.Makes me realize how deep God's love is for me-My cerebrum cannot fully understand His love.

All in all:

As God's children we have no reason to panick or to ever doubt God's love towards us.What He witholds,is not a neccesity and is for our own good.

He witholds certain things so that He may prepare our hearts,so that when we finally receive what we've asked for,we do not selfishly cherish it;but use it for the benefit of others as well

Praises to the Most High, for being an exceptional Father to me!!!

New Mercies everyday!

I am blessed though,I really am.Even if I do not have all that I need right now,I’m still blessed and I know His blessing is upon me and I’m learning that life is truly not about what you have but who you have!

First my mom-although I love writing and expressing my appreciation,my words can never explain how grateful I am for her. She’ll rather have NOTHING than to see me suffer. She’s okay with living on a meagre budget just to ensure that my needs are met.She prays for and with me.In my failures, not once has she called me inadequate, instead she’s put her arm around me and asked what’s next? She still supports my dreams and she keeps on motivating me.She’s my friend, she loves me the way I am and more.I am because of her

Then there’s my twin. How can I begin to describe him? He’s walked me home everytime I had to stay late at school and not once has he complained.I go to him when I need to get things off my chest. We laugh together and he’s just being my bro-protecting,sharing,and more.I am blessed indeed.

Then there’s my dear friend (M).I don’t know where to begin. He always has my back.Ever there for me,strengthening me in my struggles, speaking a word in season. He's’ever leading me in love and in meekness.Ever excited with me when I am and ever leading me to God.I love him!I could go on and on,but God blessed me with him!

Then there’s my other mom-a dear friend I’ve met in uwc. She’s been my mom, she’s been my friend, study partner,supporter-in all facets, shared her lunch, struggles, knowledge and more.Ever welcoming me in her home, ever rebuking when I’m off line.I love Clementine.

Grateful

I'm really grateful to God and to those who are committed to following God's will.

A year ago,I did not even know what a godly marriage looked like.I did not know that the wife was meant to be the home-keeper and the man a leader and a provider.Until I came across__,____,___ and  the Nebblett family (image below). They really inspire me.

I didn't know it is possible to have a heaven on earth!I did not even know there were families that served God together as a whole!

I'm grateful to those who share what they've learnt in their Christian journey and are not ashamed to live for God!

Grateful for those who are pursuing holiness.

Grateful to those who always counsel me

and grateful for the gift of life!

Is your complaint really that VALID?

A few weeks back,on my way to the Library,I passed by two handicapped males. They both use the wheelchair for mobility. The first one still had his legs. But my ATTENTION was grabbed by the second one.He had a bright smile,he even greeted me!And as I looked at him I realised his legs were amputated.A sudden question lingered in my mind, how would I survive without legs?

I realised there and then that I'm blessed to have legs-seeing that I love walking. But another question came to mind.Do I relly have a VALID reson to complain about my struggles while there are people who are faced with serious issues? This made me realise,I don't have a REASON.

Why?Because I serve God who's always there to pull me through. No matter how hard it is,God is there. And so I realise it's time to spend more time thanking and praising God for all His goodness towards me.If a handicapped manages to have a bright smile, how much more should I?

A child of God,who always has angels ministering towrds me.I am clothed,I'm in good health and I have a great support system. And the list is endless.

So,ALL I'm saying is:it's better to find good things to smile about as opposed to always looking for faults.Come to think of it,we usually have something to complain about when we start comparing ourselves to others-which is not right at all.

And so,instead of looking elsewhere start looking at your life nd you'll realise you only are to be grateful!God gives us burdens that we're able to bear. And I came across a statement, while reding Patriarchs nd Prophets, which said God allows circumstances to prove and develop character :)!

Thankful Wednesday: the good men that I cross paths with

I love my job because I get to meet people from different walks of life. There's been one elderly man who has become a father figure to...
