Parenthood

Yesterday I was listening to a radio show on S.A f.m(very good radio station- informative) on fatherhood and I have concluded:

Children need both parents.God wasn't mistaken when he wedded Adam and Eve and then told them to be fruitful. But sadly in this sin-filled world with divorce and broken homes this is not always the case.

Even in situations where parents are no longer together it is crucial for parents to be there for the child. The child is not to blame and parents should have an amicable relationship for their sakes and of the child.

Mothers:even if he hurt you,you do not have to punish the child by not allowing him to have a relationship with his child. The sad thing is,you are not the one that will be affected, but the child will be and often this causes resentment in the child.

Once you have a child, your needs are no longer  a priority-the needs of the child are.It would be nice if we could get to a place where parenthood is taken seriously. Can you imagine how it must feel to be that child who sees other children with both parents and wonders what it feels like to have both parents? Parents owe it to their child(ren) .

There will be less social issues like crime and teenage pregnancy if parents had the genuine interest in their children and loved them genuinely.Better yet, don't have children if you are not prepared to be there for them.
