Yesterday I was listening to S.A fm and they were talking about skin
lightners and it's dangers.And it was said that black women and men make
the majority of its users.
This has made me conclude:as long as we continue to follow the standards of the world pertaining to beauty we'll never come to accept ourselves as we are.Also as long as young girls and women continue to spend endless hours in magazines and in TV shows their understanding of beautiful will be deteriorated.
In fact,if we want to be beautiful why not consult the author of beauty?God himself!Look at the beautiful flowers all around,aren't we more precious than flowers?In fact,we can only be truly beautiful and self accepting when we understand that one's worth/beauty does not come in one's complexion,eyes,etc.And God has decided to give each one of us a certain complexion,certain shaped nose etc.Aren't we insulting God when we want to change ourselves?
God has called us to simplicity.When reading the Bible we are told that Abigail was fair to look upon and in the same line we are told she had good understanding (1 Samuel 25:3).Beauty should start from within and be transferred from without.There's a close link between one's character and beauty.In fact,as long as we continue to look at the world's definition of beauty,we'll continue putting others down and we'll never measure up.Let's embrace one another and love each other as we are.One becomes beautiful as they accept themselves and take good care of themselves.
The most beautiful women I know,are beautiful inside first.God will have us possess purity,kindness,meekness-these are the articles we should run after.What's the point of being beautiful and be evil at the same time?We are beautiful.Eating healthy,taking daily baths and dressing modestly makes one beautiful.
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.~1 Peter 3:3-4

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.~Proverbs 31:30
