His kingdom requires righteousness

"Seek first the kingdom of God and all his righteousness,and all these things shall be added unto you."(paraphrased)~Matthew 6:33

I get three things from this text:our concern,our priority should be obtaining eternity;  to obtain eternity,we are to possess Christ's righteousness,His character.Our basic needs:food,clothes,are all secondary and God will provide.

You may ask why we need to be righteous for His kingdom:"But fornication,and all uncleanliness,or covetousness,let it not be once mentioned among you.,as becometh saints;neither filthiness,nor foolish talking,nor jesting,which are convenient:but rather giving of thanks.For this ye know,that no whoremonger,nor unclean person,nor covetous man,who is an idolater,HATH ANY INHERITANCE IN THE KINGDOM OF CHRIST AND OF GOD."(Ephesians 5:3-5).

"and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man,which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness."(Ephesians 4:23-24)

How I pray to be holy!Holy in thoughts,in words,actions and more.But God is faithful and will impart His righteousness to me!
