All to His glory

When we accept Jesus as our personal Saviour we are saying:we will no longer seek to do our will for our good pleasure,but we will consider the will of the Father in every instance.We are saying,we will deny ourselves,put self aside and do everything for God's glory. In fact,the Bible commands us,"whether therefore ye eat,or drink,or whatsoever ye do,do all to the glory of God"(1 Corinthians 10:31).

The passage above is setting a principle we are to live by.In fact,it is calling us to practical Christianity. So many times we think of Christianity as a theory but it is not.It is not enough to know Scripture by heart.Evey act,however small or big is to please God.Often when we think of pleasing God we ONLY think about religious duties,like evangelism,serving in the church but we are exclude our normal daily activities.And it is here that the devil gets the opportunity to deceive us and have us fall into sin.

We are to include God in every decision we make:from what to eat,wear,watch,listen to because all these neither give glory to Him or they don't.Before making any decision,we should consider how it will please God?God has a say in everything we do,and as much as it is for His own glory,it is also for our own good.I've found out that many teenagers or young people use social networks as they would please and conclude:God has no business with regards to how they live.It is always saddening when a young sister or a brother starts showing certain parts of his/her body and exalting that which is not holy.We dishonour God and we become false witnesses of what Christianity is.

Also,when we become Christians we accept the responsibility of becoming light bearers.Just by scrolling down your Facebook page,can you truly say that you have done all that is in your power to exalt God?Before uploading or writing a status, think about the bearing it will have on others.It may be that one who has been in contact with you was on the way on becoming a Christian but because of your Facebook,they have lost interest.Whether we like it or not,all that we do has an influence for good or bad;and how I pray that we may take God into account in all that we do.

We can ONLY have a fulfilling relationship with God when we include him in everything.The reason we do not reach the standard is because we have an on and off relationship with God.When it pleases us,we decide to include him.This shouldn't be the case. Christ wants to have a living,daily experience with each one of us.He wants to dwell in us so that we can be a testimony that man is able to live a sinless life.God wants us to be channels of light for the salvation of mankind.Let us allow Him.Through us,God wants to reach souls that need to be loved and are suffering.Isn't that a noble calling praiseworthy than living a life that is all about ourselves and what we want?

"And behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me,to give every man according as his work shall be."{Revelation 22:12}

Jesus-the ONLY standard of godliness

Jesus came on planet not only to die for us;but he was exposed to akin trials and temptations as ourselves;yet he never sinned.So he is the only person we can follow FULLY (1 Peter 2:22).

Christ is the example of every Christian and we are admonished,"He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also to walk,even as he walked"~1 John 2:6

There is one thing I have noticeed amongst us young christians and even among old ones:when pursuing godliness,we tend to be drawn to those who are godly are pursuing it as well and I condone this because, 'iron sharpens iron." But we must always keep in mind there is no one who is the standard of righteousness "for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God"(Romans 3:23).Furthermore,we are called to righteousness because God is righteous,not man!

It is important that we refrain from idolizing any one.Sometimes,we do this uncounsciously.For example,for us to believe in something,we'd first validate it from a so-so.This is wrong.Jesus left us with the Holy Spirit whose duty is to "guide you in all truth,shew you things to come,counsel and teach us".

Don't get me wrong,there is nothing wrong with seeking counsel but we need to like Bereans who "searched the scriptures daily,whether those things were so"~Acts 17:11.Mankind is not the standard of truth.The word of God is truth(John 17:17).

Yes,a person may be pursuing godliness,which is commendable but they have not reached the standard and they do not know everything.As much as individuals are inspirational and thety motivate us in our Christian journey,we should not make the mistake of putting them at a pedistal where we treat them better than others.

Moreover,God left us the Bible to search it (2 Timothy 2:5) and he has given us the testimony,which is the Spirit of Prophecy(Revelation 19:10) to prove all things.

"TO THE LAW AND THE TESTIMONY: IF THEY SPEAK NOT ACCORDING TO THIS WORD,IT IS BECAUSE THERE IS NO LIGHT IN THEM."~Isaiah 8:20
