The secret things belong to God

" The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law."-Deuteronomy 29:29

Do you eve find yourself so absorbed in the "hows" of the future,to the extent that you fill overwhelmed?I sometimes do.I sometimes wonder how everything will turn out.But God has  been reminding me tomorrow is not mine.Getting worried about something you have no control over is just a waste of time.

But knowing that God is control makes it all worth while because he has promised "I know the thought I have towards you, thoughts of peace and to give you an expected end"(Jeremiah 29:11).He has also promised to "uphold thee with  the right hand of my righteousness" (Isaiah 41:10).We spend time buying unneccesary worry:worried about funds for studies, getting work, marriage and so forth. As young people we find ourselves focusing more on things we have no control over and if not careful,we might end up neglecting the call for our existence.

God has called "unto righteousness" and He promised "to be with us,strengthen us,and to help us"(Isaiah 41:10).Our duty is "to know the things revealed to us" through the Scriptures because they able to make us "wise unto salvation" (2 Timothy 3:15).This is what should absorb us.But at times,we find ourselves concerned about things that will not give us knowledge about God and His will. It's easy to be absorbed in the lives of others,or with what's happening around us such that we lose out on the connection with God.

Our business is one: "to know God" (John 17:3) for our salvation is closely linked with knowing God and leading others to Him.

Tomorrow is the Lord's
The future is the Lord's
Whether you will marry is God's to decide
How everything will work out belongs to God-our is to hold onto His promises
Ours is to trust Him today and let Him lead daily.

He who has promised is faithful!

"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."-Isaiah 41:10

"I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;"-Isaiah 46:2

"And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."-John 17:3

A thought in my mind

I know of students who'd rather not eat, sleep rather than not study. The same students are willing to go on without prayer and bible study

I know of people who have persevered being mistreated by their spouses with the hope that all would get better one day

I know of people who are willing to starve themselves and save up money for something they want

I know of people who believe in love, that they are willing to go to extremes just to be in a relationship

I know of people who are driven and who have achieved much of their dreams through perseverance

But I always ask, why can't this drive for success, love, hoping for the better NOT be the same drive for one's salvation?

I mean, considering what Christ has done for us and what He has in store for us,isn't our time worth it when spent doing good,in prayer and Bible study-not as an obligation but as a privilege. Why is it that we are willing to miss prayer-the breath of life and time to commune with God,over an episode?

How can we can be willing to stick it out with someone but we are not willing to commit to God-the source of our being?

How is it that we'd rather persevere certain trials BUT WE ARE NOT WILLING TO SUFFER A LITTLE WHILE FOR Christ's sake-which is really for our own sake?

Why has God taken last place in our lives-when He's the source of everything?

I admit, there has been times when I've been tempted to watch tv/chat/blog instead of doing my evening devotion;but when I realised that I was the one missing out on having a meaningful relationship with God,I always lose sight of all the things that are not salvational to me.

But this thought still remains:why are we willing to chase after perishable things which will only break and harm us;instead of choosing the One who seeks to mend us,give us victory over sin and eternal life?

Could it be that we do not really understand of God's love for us or we take too little time to contemplate on His love?

Why is our salvation a matter of little thought to us?

In deep thoughts

Maybe just maybe....It all went wrong when girls were told they're equal with boys...and they interpreted this to mean they can do everything boys do.This is problematic-because when girls are corrected they always want to include boys, even if they are NOT part of the equation. It's even sad that it's in the church. You'll tell girls to dress modestly and there's always that one who'll include men and talk about them needing self-control.It's as if there's a race between males and females. Now we have girls who sleep around because they've concluded,"if boys can do it,so can we",some play the initiator, while others bring babies into this world and abandon them. It's a deadly mindset and so much damage has been done.As if true manhood include such behaviour. I agree with Elisabeth when she says:
"It is a naive sort of feminism that insists that women prove their ability to do all the things that men do.This is a distortion and a travesty.Men never sought to prove that they can do all the things women do.Why subject women to purely masculine criteria?Women can and ought to be judged by a criteria of femininity, for it is in their femininity that they participate in the human race and femininity has its limitations. So has masculinity."~Elisabeth Elliot

Thankful Wednesday: the good men that I cross paths with

I love my job because I get to meet people from different walks of life. There's been one elderly man who has become a father figure to...
