Trusting God’s leading in every facet of our lives

I remember how God led me in my matric exams. There’d be instances where I would set the alarm for 2 a.m. in the morning and I wouldn’t wake up at all. And before I’d leave for school, he’d reveal which essay would be on the paper.

And today, he did the same. My group and I were presenting and I had planned to wake up very early. But I slept all throughout.  I had browsed through the presentation a few days ago. But somehow God calmed me (don’t really like speaking in front of people J), but my profession requires me to be competent on public speaking.
And there was one concept I had struggled to explain while doing the research for the presentation and one of my group members explained it to me, but I still couldn’t explain it properly.
Today,as the first group member began to present, she actually gave me the answer.

And to cut the story short, my lecturer was well pleased. If she isn’t, she usually asks questions and if she sees you’re struggling, she will give you the explanations. I can only thank God!

Moral of the story
God strengthens us and in our shortcomings, He covers up for us. We must do everything that’s humanly possible and leave the rest with him. To those who are studying: don’t exclude God from your studies. Remember, He is omniscient. So he is all knowing-he knows mathematics, human biology, law, ict, psychology, medicine, etc, there isn’t anything impossible with God.
When Jesus left,he promised that the Holy Spirit will teach us,allow Him to teach you in your studies too!

“He(God) determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name. Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit” (Psalm 147:4-5)

“With God, everything shall be possible” (Luke 1:37)

I salute the reformers!

The world celebrates men who fought for equality for everyone;but today I want to recognize those who gave up life and comfort for true freedom.Freedom from lust and sin is the greatest freedom.I thank God for the likes of John Wycliffe,Martin Luther,Melancthon,Froment,John Knox,Calvin,Farel,Lefevre,Berquin and many more.

These men are the ones that have dared to stand and say,"The Bible and the Bible alone".These are the men who opposed the false doctrines of Rome and declared, even in the face of death,"I will not recant unless you show me my error from the Scriptures" and to God and to them I will forever be grateful.I am grateful that these men were faithful unto death, fire and many painful sufferings. If it wasn't for these men we would never have the gift of the Word of God and the truth would not have travelled to my mom's generation and mine and they are my heroes.

And my appeal is that we may join these men in their efforts of making the truth known and to share in their struggles for great was the price paid on Calvary for each one of us.It is my prayer that we will not take lightly the gospel.

Devotional Thought

“35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. 36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”~Mark 8:35-36

This passage tells me, the only source of life is God and none of us is able to save himself or herself. That is why Jesus came to “seek and to save the lost”. And all who believe in him have the promise of eternal life. The only thing or person worth dying for is Jesus and the gospel.

There is no use of gaining the world-its riches, education and more WITHOUT securing your name in heaven. In fact, our pursuit as Christians is to “seek first the kingdom of God and all his righteousness” then the other things will be added.

“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay for yourselves treasure in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not steal.” Matthew 6:19

WHEN THINGS GO WRONG,HOW DO YOU REACT?

Yesterday,as I was coming from school late(ish) to where I stay,I got robbed. The guy appeared out of nowhere and he wanted my phone and money.I gave my phone with the hope that he will leave. To my surprise,he grabs my bag and runs with my bag.And as I was screaming, running after him,I thought,"what if he has a knife and his friends are waiting somewhere"?Anyway that bag had most of my school resources so I will suffer a bit.But atleast my life has been preserved and I'm unharmed.I thank God!

But out of frustration,I wondered,"Why me"?I got angry a bit and thought of all the things I could have done to prevent the robber from taking my bag.I'm still shaken. But God has comforted me,through the Holy Spirit.

From this whole experience I've learnt I need to forgive, even those who harm me;because when I sin I harm God and he still forgives me.Further on,God gave each one free will and sadly it got messed up when sin entered. So,God is NOT responsible for any evil that is done-each man is responsible for his actions NOR  can he control men to do what their want without their consent. So,we shouldn't rally ask,'Why me?',instead,'What is the lesson for me to learn'?

What comforts me is knowing, all the evils that have been to us will be avenged and all the pain will go away. And the instigator of all this evil, pain, mystery going on and those he has used will be killed to never harass us!

God does not overlook sin

Sometimes, because we want to commit a certain sin,we look at people who've committed sin and have made it through. And often  use this in justifying the sins we want to commit, especially in relationships.

Just because so and so fornicated, got married and have a powerful ministry does not mean God overlooks the sin of fornication.Just because she married someone of a different faith and he later accepted her faith DOESN'T mean being unequally yoked  is fine and God doesn't mind.Just because they started out by stealing each other's affections and later on made things right you should also do the same.

We have different experiences and the only safe route is following God's command. Before making a decision:don't look at people BUT at what God says, because His word is a "lamp and light" unto our lives.Although our feelings are not the standard for what is right/wrong,if you have doubts about it,it is probably NOT right.

God is not the God of confusion. When you earnestly seek to know His will,He will reveal it to you.And it is safest to accept the light even if you were in variance from it.Continual disobedience blinds us and SIN ALWAYS HAS CONSEQUENCES.

He cares

The human body continues to amaze me.To think that the human body has many cells that are not even visible to the human eye yet they ensure the proper functioning of the body. And God has created all of this and he knows every process.

Now,this same God set up the sea,the sun,the moon.He created all animals, grouped them and he has made them to be able to adapt to various conditions.

Is there anything too hard for the Lord?

Even amid the calamities

God's love towards mankind is still the same!He is afflicted in all their afflictions(Isaiah 63:9).He does not slumber nor sleep.Whoever harms his children touches the apple of his eye(Zechariah 2:8).And he will surely avenge every evil that you and I suffer.

He cares,he cares! He cared enough to let his son die for us!

Thankful Wednesday: the good men that I cross paths with
